Guided Health and Wellness Website Provides Unique Resource for Cancer Survivors

The inspirational, mini documentary chronicles how breast cancer survivor Jackie O’Rouke underwent bilateral mastectomy, while revealinghow she deals with cancer on a daily basis including: personal support structures, the importance of journaling and focusing on happiness.
“It’s really important to have a good support system, family, friends, church or whomever you can set up to be a support,” O’Rouke said. “It’s hard to ask for help, but it’s OK, you need to ask for help.”
The National Cancer Institute estimates that approximately 2.4 million women with a history of breast cancer were alive in January 2004. Most of these women were cancer-free, while others still had evidence of cancer and may have been undergoing treatment.
